Varied Vases In Color Note Cards & Holder
The Varied Vases Bundle is so sweet and versatile and it helped me create this delightful little note card gift set! I featured one of the new In Colors on each of the 3×3" note cards in the set, then packaged them up in a decorated Mini Pizza Box. So cute! Wouldn't this be a lovely little gift for a friend who's feeling down, a co-worker who's having a birthday, a host of a summer party or as little favors for a bridal shower?
Sweet In Color Notes—Varied Vases has lots of different flowers, vase shapes and sentiments, so it's easy to give a unique look to each card you create. All note cards are cut to 3" x 6", and scored and folded in half at the 3" mark. I decorated the background with the same color of 3" x 1/2" striped paper from the 6×6" In Color Designer Series Paper pack, then tied some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the card front. Let's take a look at the details of each note card color…
Blueberry Bushel—I stamped the Varied Vases orchid in Memento Black onto a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle. I stamped the solid color of flowers in Blueberry Bushel ink, stamped off once for a lighter color. Next, I punched a vase with the Vase Builder Punch from coordinating In Color DSP and popped it up over the flower stem. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White, hand-cut and popped up with Dimensionals. The circle is popped up, too.
Call Me Clover—This bunch of flowers has a long stem, so I just stamped it as far up as I could and positioned the vase flush along the edge of the Stitched Shapes Framelits square. The flowers are colored in with the coordinating two-step stamp in Call Me Clover. I trimmed the punched vase shape just a little to make it shorter to fit the flowers a little better, too. The sentiment is stamped directly onto the square.
Grapefruit Grove—I stamped the third flower onto a Stitched Shapes Framelits oval in Memento Black and Grapefruit Grove. This time the striped DSP was adhered in the center to give extra room on the bottom of the card for the sentiment.
Lovely Lipstick—I stamped the tulip stems and flower outline in Memento ink and filled in the tulips with the solid images in Lovely Lipstick, stamped off once. I trimmed the vase shape just a bit to make this one fit the square Stitched Shapes die-cut.
Pineapple Punch—I stamped the sentiment on the bottom of this card, too, and the flowers are stamped in Pineapple Punch. Can you see that the flowers are a little bit more orange than the rest of the Pineapple Punch colors? That's what happens when you have a dirty Stampin' Scrub! Just a little bit of reddish-gray residue ink from the scrub must have been on the stamp, causing it to look a little darker than it should. Moral of the story: clean those Stampin' Scrubs by running the pads under tap water until clear!
Don't Forget The Envelopes—These note cards fit perfectly into the 3×3" Mini Envelopes! You can even add some matching In Color DSP to the flap for a coordinating envelope!
Note Card Holder—The Mini Pizza Box was the perfect size holder for these 3×3" notes! I wanted to coordinate it with the look of the cards, but also feature all 5 colors. I started with a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" square of Grapefruit Grove on one box and Lovely Lipstick on the other. Next, I added a coordinating patterned layer from the In Color DSP measuring 3" x 3". Before adhering it to the top of the pizza box, I wrapped some Tulle Ribbon around the middle and secured the ends with SNAIL adhesive.
I stamped 3 individual flower images close to the top and colored each one with a different Stampin' Write In Color Marker: Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick. I drew on the stems with a Call Me Clover Stampin' Write Marker, then popped up a Blueberry Bushel vase over the top. The Stitched Shapes circle is popped up with Dimensionals onto the box top.
