I'm really loving the Very Versailles stamp set because it has fantastic collage possibilities. All of the elements are pretty on their own and they also layer beautifully! For my first card, I wanted to CASE the sample card in dark, rich colors.
Background Basics—I started by stamping the 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" Whisper White background piece. First, I stamped the Very Versailles script in stamped-off Crumb Cake ink on the top right and bottom left corners. Next, I stamped the leaves in stamped-off Mossy Meadow ink on the opposite corners. I wanted to give the background more of a vintage feel, so I texture embossed the stamped piece with the Subtle Embossing Folder. I LOVE how it makes it look like elegant linen paper!
Next, I stamped the border image from the set across a 3-1/4" x 3/4" piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock in Mossy Meadow ink and adhered it across the top. I mounted it onto a 3-3/8" x 4-5/8" piece of Copper Foil. Before adding it to the Soft Suede card base, I tied some Linen Thread around the layers with the knot on the back. I tied a separate bow and attached it with a pinched Glue Dot. I like to cheat when tying trim like this because I have more control over the bow laying flat when I do it in two parts.
Focal Point—I fishtail cut the ends of a 2-1/8" x 1/2" Crumb Cake strip and adhered it onto the border. Next, I inked up the Very Versailles decorative frame image in Blackberry Bliss, stamped off once, then stamped onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out with my super-sharp Paper Snips. It's popped up over the banner with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the Very Versailles sentiment in VersaMark ink onto Whisper White, embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder and die-cut it with the Layering Ovals dies. It's added to the card with SNAIL. Finally, I colored a couple of Pearl Jewels with the Bronze Stampin' Blends Marker to create some faux-copper pearls and added them to either side of the focal point.
Two Cool—I wanted my second version to feature soft, subtle colors and I changed up the orientation to horizontal. The script is stamped in Sahara Sand and the leaves are in Soft Seafoam. I also added a couple of border images in Pool Party ink. I stamped the Soft Seafoam border across the 4-1/2" x 3/4" Soft Seaform strip for the foundation for the focal point.
After embossing the layer with the Subtle Embossing Folder and mounting it onto a Pool Party mat, I added some fun trim. Do you recognize where it's from? I pulled this piece of trim from the Woven Threads decorative trim. If you pull this bottom piece from the trim, you have tassels left on the remaining trim and I plan to use that on an upcoming project. Check out the video to see this versatile accessory! I mounted the layers onto a Sahara Sand card base.
Focal Point—This time, the banner is in Sahara Sand, the frame image is in stamped-off Highland Heather and the sentiment is in Pool Party.
Finishing Touches—The "blue" sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins have a lovely iridescence that pulls all of the colors together beautifully! They truly make the card!
