The Very Versailles stamp set was a must-have for my collection because of its beautiful background elements that are perfect for layering! It reminds me of the vintage look that we saw a lot of way back when I first started stamping. I received a lovely card using this stamp set in my swaps that I received from the Greek Isles Trip Achievers and I couldn't wait to try it in a different color combination.
Background Basics—I started by stamping the scripted image from the Very Versailles stamp set in Petal Pink ink onto a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Next, I stamped the leaf image from the set in Crumb Cake ink that was stamped off one time. These layered images create a foundation for the focal point. I stamped a Very Versailles sentiment in Rococo Rose ink at the tip, then mounted the layer onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Rococo Rose. The layers were adhered to a Whisper White Thick card base.
Focal Point Layers—I die-cut a Rococo Rose scallop circle and a Copper Foil circle using the Layering Circles dies. I adhered a 2-1/2" long piece of the Rococo Rose Gathered Ribbon onto the scallop circle, then added the copper circle on top of that. I added some Tear & Tape Adhesive to the back of the scallop circle, then attached some loops of Linen Thread to it before popping up the element with Dimensionals.
Pretty Butterflies—I stamped the Butterfly Gala butterfly duo in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Both butterflies are colored with Stampin' Blends Markers in Rococo Rose Dark, Rococo Rose Light and Petal Pink Dark. After they were colored, I punched them out with the Butterfly Duet Punch, then stamped the butterfly bodies. I finished by brushing them both with Wink of Stella, then popped them both up with Mini Dimensionals. So sweet!
Two Cool—This Pretty Peacock version was created by Barbara Meyer and was the inspiration for my card above. I love her color combo! This demo is from Austria, so her standard card measurements are a little different—the finished card size measures 4" x 5-3/4".
Background Basics—Barbara stamped the script in Mint Macaron in and stamped the leaves in Pretty Peacock. The sentiment is also in Pretty Peacock.
Collage Layers—The foundation for her butterfly is a Pretty Peacock and Silver Foil scalloped circle with a strip of the Pretty Peacock Scalloped Linen Ribbon and some Silver Metallic Thread loops.
Butterflies—Barbara colored her butterflies with Pretty Peacock and Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends. I love the shading she added between the colors! She also finished them with a little Wink of Stella shimmer. Love it!
