I've been getting more and more into creating scrapbook pages…not necessarily filling them up with photos… just creating them. It's definitely been beneficial to show examples of scrapbook pages at my workshops—stamping and scrapping go hand-in-hand once you see what you can do with stamps!
One of the easiest ways to incorporate stamping into your pages is to create your own decorative paper! With all of the coordinating stamps from Stampin' Up!, you can hand stamp your own pretty papers in a few minutes! Plus, you can use the same images to make matching embellishments! Here's an example:
I created this page with the Vintage Vogue set—LOVE IT! I'm so hoping that this set makes it into the new catalog, but it may not, so make sure you order it before the Spring Mini expires on April 30!
Scrap Page Details: I started with a 12×12" piece of Kraft card stock (which will become Crumb Cake in the new catalog). Inking in Soft Suede, I rolled on the Very Vintage Stampin' Around Wheel (may also be gone on April 30) over the entire sheet. This texture alone makes a beautiful background! Wheels are perfect for covering large areas quickly, so they work well here, as well as on gift bags and gift wrap. For best results on projects larger than a card, I recommend getting an ink cartridge. It fits right in the handle and allows you to roll the image continuously without re-inking.
Next, I used the two flowers from Vintage Vogue in Elegant Eggplant and Rich Razzleberry to stamp randomly over the entire sheet. When you stamp some of your images off the side of the page, the result looks like you cut the sheet out of decorative paper. Easy peasy!
The polka dotted Rich Razzleberry Patterns Designer Series Paper is layered on Perfect Plum and lined with a white punched Eyelet Border. The bottom photo mat is stamped in Elegant Eggplant with the vine image from the Vintage Vogue set. I stamped more flowers on scrap pieces of Kraft, cut them out, added Rhinestone Brads, and popped them up with Dimensionals. Sentiment is from Happy Everything.
Coordinating Vintage Brag Book
I love this color combination so much, I had to try it out on a my previous brag book project.
When I showed this additional project at one of my workshops, one of my guests suggested that you could add this brag book TO your scrapbook page! I thought that was brilliant! You know when you have 40 pictures of a birthday party, but you don't want to scrap 10 pages worth to cover it…just add a brag book to the page to hold all of the extra photos you don't want to feature! Too Cool!
I could easily attach this book right to the page…here's how it would look:
What an awesome idea! I love being inspired by other stampers! I'm always looking for inspiration for my next project…what are you working on?
