Violet Dreams Sending Love Oval Frame Card

If you love purples and blues, shimmer and pretty framed elegance, this card checks all the boxes! This is a favorite from my upcoming Violet Dreams Suite Class, with the video dropping sometime this week. Until then, I hope you enjoy this pretty sneak peek!

Background Basics

I started with a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock that I decorated with Violet Dreams Designer Series Paper: 3-3/4″ x 2″ striped pattern on the top and 3-3/4″ x 3″ floral pattern on the bottom. The layers are mounted onto a Hydrangea Hue card base.

I altered a 3-3/4″ x 1/2″ piece of the Shimmering Stripes Paper with Hydrangea Hue ink. TIP: I recommend using a Hydrangea Hue Blends Marker to color it. I originally used Classic Ink and it smeared off and didn’t dry by the next day, so that isn’t the best choice. The paper is too smooth and non-absorbent. I adhered it with SEAL Adhesive at the seam of the DSP pieces. It kind of looks like a glittery ribbon, doesn’t it?

Focal Point Oval

I stamped the Framed Violets scalloped frames image in Gorgeous Grape ink onto Basic White cardstock, then die-cut it with the corresponding scalloped oval die. I popped the frame up with Mini Dimensionals (or Dimensional edging snipped into pieces).

I stamped the Framed Violets dotted image in Fresh Freesia randomly over the die-cut oval from the center of the frame. I adhered that in the middle with SEAL.

Focal Point Floral

I stamped the Framed Violets floral in black ink onto Basic White cardstock and colored it with Stampin’ Blends Markers: Flowers with Hydrangea Hue and Fresh Freesia and the stems & leaves with Peaceful Pine. I die-cut it with the coordinating Framed Violets dies and popped it up with Dimensionals inside the oval. I just adore that recessed frame look!

Sweet Sentiment & Finishing Touches

I stamped the Framed Violets sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink onto Basic White and hand-cut it with Detailed Scissors. It’s popped up, too!

I finished by altering a couple of Basic Rhinestones with the Dark Hydrangea Hue Blends Marker and adding it to the center of the two flowers.

I just love how it turned out! What do you think?
