Holly’s Warm Blessings of Christmas Card #1
I received this sweet holiday card from Holly Sutton Batla in a Christmas card swap. I love it’s simple and festive design…easy to duplicate (wink, wink). Both the Walk In The Forest Designer Series Paper and the Modern Garden stamp set will be retiring soon, but as of now, both are still available for purchase, while supplies last!
Background Basics
The two-part card base begins with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Old Olive cardstock. Holly added s1/2″ x 5-1/4″ strips of striped Walk In The Forest DSP along the outer edges. Next, she cut a 3-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Old Olive and scored it at 5-1/2″. She mounted that folded piece onto the card foundation, then covered the front of the flap with a 3″ x 5-1/4″ coordinating piece of Walk In The Forest DSP.
Sweet Sentiment
Holly stamped a Modern Garden sentiment in Old Olive ink onto a large Basic White Nested Essentials die-cut label. It’s popped up onto the center flap with Dimensionals. Holly finished by adding a couple of Old Olive Glitter Sequins, also retiring soon, to the label. The Basic White inside message area measures 3″ x 5-1/4″.
Holly’s Warm Blessings of Christmas Card #2
Holly sent a second swap card that also featured the Walk In the Forest DSP and same pretty Modern Garden holiday sentiment. She switched up some elements for a completely different look.
Background Basics
Holly’s second card begins by embossing a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Balmy Blue cardstock with the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder. It’s adhered to a Balmy Blue card base. Next, Holly adhered a 1-3/4″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Walk In The Forest DSP to a 2″ x 5″ piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock and adhered that to the card front.
Focal Point Foundation
Holly added a 3″ x 4″ layer of a coordinating Walk In The Forest DSP to a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Pretty Peacock. She wrapped the bottom with some retiring Balmy Blue Sparkle Ribbon, then popped the layers up with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment
Holly stamped the Modern Garden sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink onto a Basic White Deckled Rectangle die-cut label and popped it up onto the card front. She finished with a couple Balmy Blue Glitter Sequins. Just lovely!
