Gingham Garden Washi Tape Shaker Cards

Major "Last Thursdays" Scheduling Changes!

Please note that the "Last Thursdays" monthly card classes will NOT be on the last Thursday of the month for the rest of the year.  Those Thursdays coincide with my anniversary in September, Halloween in October, Thanksgiving in November and the day after Christmas in December.  I mean what are the odds?!  Am I going to have to change the name of my class?  Geesh!

Last Thursdays - logoPlease mark your calendars for these rescheduled dates:

  • Last Wednesday, September 25
  • 4th Thursday, October 24
  • Last Tuesday, November 26
  • Last Monday, December 30

Hopefully, these dates will allow you to still come and play and not interfere with your family's holiday fun!

Washi shaker - two cool

Today's two cool cards are bright and cheery and full of fun!  They are shaker cards created with Window Sheets and Gingham Garden Washi Tape!  This idea was shown at Convention and it's so, so easy!  You'll be able to make it with me at my September Wow Techniques Class!

Washi shaker - hello lovely

Washi Tape Shaker Pocket

  • Start with a piece of 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" Whisper White card stock.  You can add stamping or keep it blank.
  • Cut a Window Sheet the same 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" size and lay over the top.
  • Seal three sides with any washi tape to create the pocket.
  • Add your confetti.
  • Seal the top with more washi tape and adhere to the card front.

Washi shaker - hello lovely 3

I started with a Bermuda Bay card base, then added a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Melon Mambo that will eventually frame the shaker.

The background of my shaker pocket was stamped wtih images from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Bermuda Bay and Wisteria Wonder.  I used the Gingham Garden Washi Tape to seal the edges.

I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for the confetti, punching shapes in Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Wisteria wonder and Silver Glimmer Paper for a little sparkle.

Add a pretty sentiment on the top of the shaker and you're done!  Mine is from the Hello, Lovely stamp set, inked in Bermuda Bay and punched with the Decorative Label Punch.  It's layered on some Wisteria Wonder Chevron Ribbon, Melon Mambo Patterned DSP, and topped with Rhinestone Jewels.

Washi shaker - make happy

The second card has a bit more stamping…I added Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo splatters.  Since I sealed it with the Melon Mambo Washi Tape, I framed it on Crushed Curry this time for contrast.

The sentiment is from the same Hello, Lovely set.

With all of the crazy colors on the background, I stuck with Silver Glimmer confetti for the shaker!
