Watercolor Melon Heartfelt Hello Card
How many Sale-a-Bration items can you fit onto one card? Well, in this case it’s 5! I was inspired to create this card by a swap card that I received from Darla Watson. I used many of the same elements from her card detailed below, but added a little bit of my own style, as well!
Background Basics
I started by stamping a Sale-a-Bration Heartfelt Hellos sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a a 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Sale-a-Bration Sunny Days Designer Series Paper. I adhered that to a 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, then mounted it onto a Sweet Sorbet card base.
Next, I tied some Sale-a-Bration Pool Party Crinkle Ribbon around the card front into a double-knot faux-bow.
Watercolor Watermelon
Next, I stamped the two-step Sale-a-Bration Watercolor Melon image onto a Basic White Everyday Details Dies circle die-cut. The inside of the watermelon is stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink and the rind is stamped in Shaded Spruce. I stamped the seeds over the top in Memento Black ink. I repeated the stamping of the full watermelon slice on another piece of Basic White cardstock, then cut it out with my super-sharp Paper Snips.
I popped up that circle die with Dimensionals, then added the second watermelon with Dimensionals, too.
It’s finished with a few Sale-a-Bration Opaque Faceted Gems in Pool Party color. So sweet & simple!
Watercolor Melon Heartfelt Hello Card by Darla
Darla Watson created this adorable swap card that I used as inspiration for my card above. I loved that she packed 5 different Sale-a-Bration items into one delightful card!
Background Basics
Darla used a 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ piece of the Sale-a-Bration Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper for her background, mounted onto a Thick Basic White card base.
Watercolor Melon
Darla’s Watercolor Melon slices are stamped with Sweet Sorbet and Lemon Lime Twist inks, also stamped on and popped up on an Everyday Details die-cut. She added just a strip of the Pool Party Crinkled Ribbon folded underneath the circle for an accent.
Sweet Sentiment & Finishing Touches
I love that Darla embossed the Heartfelt Hellos sentiment in white onto Basic Black cardstock for a pop of contrasting black that packs a punch! She stamped it in VersaMark ink, sprinkled on the white embossing powder and heated with the Heat Tool until glossy and smooth. She fussy-cut around the word with Paper Snips and popped it up with Dimensionals. A few Pool Party Opaque Faceted Gems and this card is delicious!
