Fall Blog Hop

Hi Stamping Friends!

Today I'm thrilled to be part of my first-ever Blog Hop!  EEEEeeeee!  I'm so excited!

The Fall/Thanksgiving Blog Hop is showcasing amazing projects from 11 creative stampers, all using Stampin' Up! products!

I'm stop #8 on the list, so you might be arriving from Tammy Dunlap's Crafty Tam blog.  A big Too Cool Stamping welcome to you!

I hope you have fun and find some fantastic, Fall inspiration!

I've got two cool Fall projects to share with you today!

Both of my Fall Blog Hop projects feature cards I created with the Best of Autumn Collector stamp set.  Learn more about the Best of 25 Years Collection and see another Best of Autumn card on my previous post: Apple Pickin' Time!

Give thanks leaves - two cool

I love the realistic leaf image from the Best of Autumn set.  It works great as both a background and a focal point!

Give thanks leaves - tangerine

Before stamping the background on my 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the sentiment from Best of Greetings (another Collector set) in Early Espresso ink.  Then, I could stamp leaves all around the words without having to worry about running out of room.

I stamped the leaf image in Early Espresso, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango, and stamped an extra Tangerine leaf on scrap to cut out and pop up with Dimensionals.

I finished the card with a 5-1/4" x 1" piece of Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper and some Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.  Everything is mounted on an Early Espresso card base.

Give thanks leaves - soft sky

The second of these two cool cards uses the flip side of the Sweater Weather DSP and changes the whole color combination to include Soft Sky.

Harvest pumpkin - two cool

My second project features the awesomely amazing Circle Card Thinlit Dies that allow you to create an interactive card with one pass through the Big Shot!

Harvest pumpkin - yellow

I started with 6" long piece of Old Olive card stock cut just a tad shy of the 5-1/2" wide mark, so it fits inside the die.  TIP: I like to run my die through the machine with the cutting side up, so I can see to line up my card stock nice and straight.

Harvest pumpkin - yellow3

I stamped the harvest pumpkins image from the Best of Autumn set in StazOn Black onto Whisper White card stock, then die-cut it with the Circle Collection Framelits.  The image is colored in with a Blender Pen and an assortment of Classic Ink colors: Pumpkin Pie (well, duh!), Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Baked Brown Sugar. A single Rhinestone Jewel reminds me of a dewdrop.

I left the back of the circle blank to have a space to write.

The Witches' Brew Washi Tape down the left-hand side gives the card some balance.

I adhered a piece of 2-3/8" x 5-1/8" piece of I Am Me Designer Series paper to the inside of the card and stamped it with a sentiment from Best of Greetings.  More dewdrops!

Harvest pumpkin - tangerine

The second card is a horizontal version.  Did you know you can change the orientation?

How To Make A Horizontal Card—To create a card that fits in a Medium (standard A2-size) Envelope, start with card stock that is 7" x 4-1/4".  When you run it through the Big Shot, you'll have the left side of the card stock under the Circle Card Thinlit, and the right side of the card stock on top of (not being cut) of the Thinlit. That's it!  Too Cool!

I added some Dazzling Diamonds with a 2-Way Glue Pen for a little "frost on the pumpkin!"

I adhered a 4" x 4" piece of Sweater Weather DSP to the inside, and stamped that with a Best of Greetings sentiment in Old Olive ink. A strip of matching Season of Style Washi Tape and a Rhinestone Jewel provide the finishing touches!
