We’ll Walrus Be Friends Cards

Seriously…that walrus, though!  I adore this cute Thinking of You card created by Karen Titus!  Wouldn't this be a fun one for kids to use for Valentine's Day cards?  It's so simple, too!

Background Basics—I love how Karen created a foundation for the focal point using two contrasting strips of decorative paper from the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper pack.  The top Pool Party speckled strip measures 2" x 3-3/4" and the bottom Crushed Curry striped piece measures 2" x 1-1/4".  They are adhered onto a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Whisper White then mounted onto a Pool Party card base.

Wonderful Walrus—Karen stamped the We'll Walrus Be Friends walrus image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White, then colored him in with Stampin' Blends in Petal Pink, Smoky Slate.  If you look closely, she added some Petal Pink to the walrus skin to give more color variation than simply gray.  Love that detail!  She hand-trimmed the image with super-sharp Paper Snips and popped it up with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—The greeting was stamped in Memento Black onto Whisper White and die-cut with the Stitched Nested Labels dies and popped up with Dimensionals.  She finished off the card with a few Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins.  Adorable!

Background Basics—Sara embossed the 4" x 5-1/4" Balmy Blue background with the Swirls & Curls embossing folder and adhered it to a Basic Gray card base.  She added a little sparkle with a 1-1/2" x 5" Silver Glimmer banner.

Floating Friends—The We'll Walrus Be Friends image was stamped in Memento Black Ink onto a Whisper White Stitched Shapes circle die-cut measuring about 3" diameter. She used the Balmy Blue and Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Markers to add a little color to the walrus, popped up the circle and added a few Rhinestone Jewels to finish. So cute!
