Friendly Wishes Washi Tape Cards

I love all of the new washi tapes from the new Annual Catalog!  I thought it would be fun to experiment with these new patterns & colors.  What a quick & easy way to create a fun background for a sentiment focal point!

Washi tape - cherry on top

Tearin' It Up—My first card features the fun & cheerful patterns from the Cherry On Top Washi Tape.  The colors include Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party & Crushed Curry, and the tapes match the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper 6×6" Stack.  I simply tore one of each of the 5 designs at random lengths and taped them to a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.

Background Basics—I matted the background onto a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Watermelon Wonder card stock, then adhered it to a Bermuda Bay card base.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Friendly Wishes image in Bermuda Bay onto Whisper White, then die-cut it using the new Lots of Labels Framelits.  I stamped the image a second time in Watermelon Wonder onto scrap Whisper White, then trimmed out the word "friend" and adhered it to the top.  You could also use markers to color directly onto the rubber to get the same, two-color effect.  I colored in the heart on the image with a Blender Pen and Bermuda Bay ink pad.

Finishing Touches—I die-cut a second Lots of Labels layer in the same size, then cut it in half and re-positioned it to frame the top and bottom of the label.  That layer is popped up with Dimensionals.  A couple of Rhinestone Jewels accent it perfectly.

Inside—I dressed up the inside with one strip of the dotted Cherry On Top Washi Tape.  So cute!

Washi tape - bohemian

Two Cool—My second version highlights the Bohemian Designer Washi Tape with patterns in Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and Delightful Dijon!  The tape coordinates with the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.  I'm loving this combination, because it uses some of the same colors as my new Too Cool logo!  Sweet!  Instead of tearing, I trimmed the ends with Paper Snips for a sleek look.

Background Basics—This time I layered the 3-3/4" x 5" Whisper White layer onto 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Island Indigo (to match the polka dots) and adhered it to a Blackberry Bliss card base.  I like the way the darker purple makes the colors really pop!

The Best—I stamped a different Friendly Wishes greeting in Blackberry Bliss onto Whisper White and die-cut it with a smaller Lots of Labels framelit.  The second framing layer is in Island Indigo.

Inside—I added a couple Bohemian washi tape banners to the inside for fun.

Washi tape - everyday chic

Three Cool—The last card features the Everyday Chic Washi Tape in elegant black & silver patterns, which also coordinates with the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper!  I went for a horizontal look this time.

Sweet Sentiment—I used the same sentiment as the previous card, but inked it in Black Memento Ink and layered it onto a Basic Black card stock Lots of Labels die-cut.
