Hi Stamping Friends!
Eclipse cards are all the rage right now, and I love this design that I CASEd from Jill Olsen. It's so lovely!
Have you tried an Eclipse Card, yet? All you need are the Large Letters Framelits and any cool background! I've seen so many variations…you can find tons of Eclipse technique card ideas on Pinterest.
I created today's cards for a recent Too Cool Team shoebox swap.

Winter Wonder Snowflake Eclipse Cards
I love the simplicity of these eclipse cards. The beautiful white-on-white background, with just a pop of color and sparkle, is so elegant. And, it's a relatively quick card, too. There is not even any stamping! It's definitely a design with a Too Cool flair!
Background Basics—I started by adhering a 5" x 3-3/4" Cherry Cobbler layer to a Thick Whisper White card base. This color will be what shows when the letters are popped up.
Lovely Letters—I used the Large Letters Framelits to die-cut the word "JOY" in the center of a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock. Next, I carefully positioned that white layer in the Winter Wonder Texture Impressions Folder with the letters all in place. I ran through the Big Shot to get that pretty snowflake embossed over the words and background.
Elegant Eclipse—I adhered the die-cut & embossed background to the card front. I re-positioned the "O" into its place as a template to adhere the inside of that letter to the card base, too. You'll want to do that for any letters that have a middle "hole" in them. Next, I used Foam Strips to pop up the letter die-cuts for a cool raised look. TIP: Foam Strips are the perfect width for the letters and it raises the letters high enough to see the color peek-thru. I used Dimensionals, which are a little too squishy and thin, so not much color shows.
Sparkly Finishing Touches—I added a couple of 1/4" x 4" strips of Red Glimmer Paper to either side with some Multipurpose Glue. Then, I die-cut a small Silver Glimmer snowflake with the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits dies and attached it with a Glue Dot. I colored a Rhinestone Jewel with a red Sharpie marker, then added that to the snowflake center. TIP: I created this card before I had my new Stampin' Blends, but I'm sure that you could use those to color these sparkly gems!
Two Cool—For my second version, I used Night of Navy for the underneath layer. The word "NOEL" was a little longer, so I needed to make thinner sparkly strips on the sides. I tried 1/8" strips of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, but still felt like it needed some color. So I added some Bermuda Bay Refill Ink to the Glimmer Paper with an Aqua Painter and I love the soft sparkly color it created. TIP: Make sure the ink on the glimmer paper is fully dried before handing it, otherwise you can get ink on your fingers and possibly on your pretty white background.
