Hi Stamping Friends!

Well, Old Man Winter may be on the way, possibly even arriving next week, but I'm already dreaming of beautiful spring days!  Today's project shows you how fun it is to decorate the Wondrous Wreath stamp for spring, not just Christmas or autumn

Spring wreath - two cool

Just like a plain wreath form from your local craft store, the Wondrous Wreath can be the foundation for any festive décor!  Add some pretty blossoms and it becomes the perfect focal point for a spring-themed birthday card!

Spring wreath - wisteria

CASEd from Rachel Legge from Sydney, Australia.

Background Basics—I layered a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Whisper White onto a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Daffodil Delight, then adhered it to a Wisteria Wonder card base.

Sweet Sentiment—One of my favorite "happy birthday" greeting stamps in the Annual Catalog comes from the Peace, Love & Cupcakes stamp set.  I really like the "sweetness" of the font and it complements the softness of the wreath very nicely here.  I stamped it in Wisteria Wonder.

Spring wreath - wisteria 2

Sparkly Wreath—I stamped the full wreath image in the light Pear Pizzazz ink.  Then I stamped directly over the top of it with VersaMark ink and embossed the image with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  It's been awhile since I've used this fun powder and it gave the perfect amount of glitz without taking away from the flowers. I die-cut the inside and outside of the wreath with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.

Bundle It & Save—Purchase the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and Wonderful Wreath Framelits together in the Wondrous Wreath Bundle and save 15% off the cost of purchasing them separately.

Spring Blossoms—I decorated the wreath with blooms, punched with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, in So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party colors.  To give them a little dimension, I folded each flower around the end of my Bone Folder so the petals would pop up a bit, then attached them with Glue Dots.  Some Pearl Jewels finish off these dainty flowers.

Basic Bow—I wanted the flowers to remain full-stage, so I kept my bow very subtle.  I chose 1/4" Whisper White Cotton Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

So, my intention for my second version was to create the same card in different colors.  I started with a Pool Party card base, then started playing around with color combinations of Crisp Cantaloupe, Pink Pirouette, and Soft Sky.  It wasn't until after I finished the card that I realized that I had selected the exact same flower colors as the first card!  Haha!  I guess I like what I like!

I'm thinking that this might make a great card to do at my December 29 "Last Thursdays" class.  By then, we'll be done with Christmas and wrapping up the final days of the Holiday Catalog.  We'll see!

I sure hope that Stampin' Up! keeps the Wondrous Wreath stamp set around so we can try it for other special occasions.  Wouldn't it be cute with some hearts for Valentine's Day?  Or, some stars for 4th of July?  Ooohh…how about Bitty Butterflies?! Love this set!
