Ooops!  Countdown To Christmas Class Fee Correction—I opened up the registration for November's Countdown To Christmas yesterday, but unfortunately had the wrong price listed for the Wondrous Wreath Bundle upgrade that includes the stamps & framelits.  The Wondrous Wreath Buncle class fee was listed as $75, but it really is only $59!

Speaking of November's Countdown To Christmas, today I'm featuring the first card from the class that features the Wondrous Wreath Photopolymer stamp set.  Let's take a closer look at the details on this amazing card!

Wondrous Wreath Banner - two cool

Like last month's Letterpress Winter Class Kit (which you can still order this month if you missed it), this month's Wondrous Wreath class kit has one card that's a little more simple and one card that's a little more fancy.  This one is the fancy one!  The kit will include supplies to make 6 cards in the Old Olive version only.

Wondrous Wreath Banner - old olive joy

I actually CASEd this card from card shown in the 2014 Holiday Catalog on page 9.  I love all of the layers and textures but, don't be fooled, it's surprisingly simple to put together.

Background Basics—I started with an Old Olive vertical card base, 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2".  I used the wreath berries image to stamp a random dot pattern on the background in Old Olive ink.

Next, I added a 1-1/4" x 5" Real Red card stock banner down the center of the card.  I also cut a 2-1/2" x 4-3/4" Whisper White banner, but before popping that up over the top with Dimensionals, I adhered some 1/8" Gold Ribbon loops to the back.

Gold Loops—I put a little Fast Fuse adhesive on the back of the banner to help hold the ribbon in place as I created the loops.  You can either make the loops from one continuous piece of ribbon, or cut them up into smaller pieces and add the loops one at a time.  I felt like I had more control over the loops when I adhered them piece-by-piece.

Your Wondrous Wreath Class Kit will include a full spool of 1/8" Gold Ribbon, so you can add accents to these cards the way you want, and have some leftover ribbon to use on other projects, too!

Stamping The Wreath —I love how easily the three coordinating wreath stamps layer on top of each other to create such a beautiful, multicolored image!  I started with the full wreath image inked in Pear Pizzazz ink.  Next, I stamped the partial leaves image in Old Olive ink directly over the top of it.  And, finally, I added the berries in Real Red ink. Gorgeous!

Since the stamps are all-clear photopolymer, and there's a handy tab at the top of each stamp, positioning the images perfectly is so, SO easy!  See a demonstration of how the layers all come together in this Wondrous Wreath Video Tutorial.

Die-Cutting The Wreath—The magic really happens when you use the Wonderful Wreath Framelits to die-cut the wreath in one pass through the Big Shot!  Simply use the tabs on the framelits to help you position the outer and inner framlits around your image, run it through, and it's intricately cut!  You need these framelits if you get the stamp set…period.  You can see how they work in the video link above.  The video says to do the framelits in two passes, but I'm here to tell you that it works in just one!

Gold Foil Words—The Wonderful Wreath Framelits come with thinlit dies to cut the word "joy" and "noel" and I think it's the gold word die-cut that makes this card!  I die-cut "joy" from Gold Foil and adhered it to the front of the wreath with a few dabs of Multipurpose Glue.

TIP: Use a piece of wax paper between the framelit and the foil to help it release from the thinlit more easily.  You'll definitely need to use a piercing tool through the little holes in the die to push it out.  A little extra work, but the results are worth it!

Faux Bow Basics—I stamped the bow image and hanger image in Real Red and cut those out with the framelits, too.  The hanger is adhered behind the wreath, and you can trim it down if it's too tall for your card front.  Adhere the wreath to the banner with Dimensionals, then add the bow die-cut with SNAIL at the top.

Wondrous Wreath Banner - lagoon noel

I changed up the color combination just slightly on my second version.  The Lost Lagoon card base gives it a completely different look!  I stamped the background berries in Lost Lagoon, as well as the second layer of leaves on the wreath.

Wondrous Wreath Banner - lagoon noel 2

This time I tried the "noel" in gold, which looks amazing, too!  My Class-To-Go kits will have three of each word so you can mix it up.

Instead of the loops, I wrapped the Gold Ribbon around the card front three times and adhered the ends under the banner.  This is an easier, and less frilly, option for adding the ribbon accents.

Wondrous Wreath Banner - insides

The Happy Insides—Don't forget to decorate the inside!  I love that the Wondrous Wreath set includes both a big greeting and a nice longer message that is perfect for the insides of your cards!  I die-cut a Whisper White banner with the Banners Framelits, stamped the sentiments in Real Red, and added a Real Red poinsettia flower accent.

All finished!  Which color combination do you like best?
