Mosaic window - two cool

CASEd from Monika Davis at Stamping Together With Monika.

I've been wanting to do a window panel card for awhile now, and I played around with different stamps and designs on my own, but wasn't happy with them. None struck my fancy as much as the too cool Mosaic Madness design I saw from Monika Davis, and later from LeeAnn Greff

I changed up the colors a bit, and played with a few of the elements, but when you've got a good design going, you stick with it!

Mosaic window - rasp

This is the Raspberry Ripple/Elegant Eggplant version we'll be doing at the Wow Techniques Class.  I loved how this one turned out!

Window Card Panel Step-By-Step

  • Start with a 4-1/4" x 8-1/4" piece of card stock.
  • Along the 8-1/4" side, score at the 2-3/4" mark and fold.  The short side will be the front of your card.
  • Add Sticky Strip along the inside bottom edge of the short front panel.
  • Adhere a 4-1/4" x 2" piece of Window Sheet to the Sticky Strip.
  • Add Sticky Strip along the outside bottom of the Window Sheet.
  • Cut a 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of the same color card stock.
  • With the card front closed, add the bottom piece of card stock.  TIP: For flush alignment, line up the card stock with the bottom of the card first, then push down to adhere to the Window Sheet. Once it's down, it's down, so be sure to get it flush the first time.  You can always trim a bit off if it is crooked.

I added 4-1/4" x 2" strips of contrasting card stock on the inside to show through the window.

I tried adding flowers and butterflies and all sorts of things, but the Mosaic Madness images looked the best with this Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Window Sheet.

My images are stamped in Bermuda Bay, Elegant Eggplant, Raspberry Ripple and Island Indigo.  Jewel tones are a favorite of mine, so I love this combo!  Everything's punched with the Mosaic Punch

Bundle It & Save—Purchase the Mosaic Madness stamp set and Mosaic Punch together in the Mosaic Madness Bundle (wood) and save 15%.

I accented the images with Rhinestone Jewels.

I used one of the border stamps in the Mosaic Madness set to create a Raspberry Ripple decorative edge on either side of the window.  Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig was a must, since I was using a wood-mount set and couldn't eye-ball it very well.

After stamping those, I wrapped Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon around the card for some coordinating texture.

The sentiment, inked in Elegant Eggplant, is from the new Express Yourself Hostess Set (again, another Hostess set that I couldn't live without).

I didn't want the Dimensionals to show through the window, so I stamped and punched a few more mosaics to adhere to the inside. I like the Eggplant panel inside as a reminder to NOT write in that space…not that I'd ever do that!

Mosaic window - curry

My Crushed Curry/Bermuda Bay combo was actually my first attempt and a "leeetle" too bright for my taste.  I do like the Modern Mosaic texture embossed background at the top, though.  It's a separate 4-1/4" x 2" piece of Crushed Curry.

Hold on a minute!  Now that I'm looking at this photo, I just realized that I didn't even put any rhinestones on this one.  What the?  How could I have missed the bling-factor?  I am slippin' for sure!  LOL!  Oh well…fixable!
