Zany Zoo Celebrate Musical Animals Cards
One of the patterns in the Zoo Crew DSP features all kinds of animals playing instruments and being musical! I knew I wanted to use that adorable singing turtle and I created a fun card with him performing in the spotlight! I hope you love these two cards as much as I do!
Background Basics—I started by stamping a Zany Zoo sentiment in Memento Black ink onto the bottom of a 4-1/4" x 2" piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. I added it to the bottom of a Soft Sea Foam card base, then added a 4-1/4" x 1/2" piece of Basic Black along the top of that.
Spotlight Background—I cut a 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock in half diagonally. Then, I stamped some Zany Zoo musical notes on it with Memento Black ink. I adhered it to a 3" x 4" piece of Zoo Crew DSP in the wavy black & white pattern, then trimmed off the pointed end. It's layered onto a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock. I tied some Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Pack around the layers, then mounted them onto the card front with SEAL Adhesive.
Terrific Turtle—I stamped the Zany Zoo turtle in Memento Black onto Basic White and colored him with Stampin' Blends Markers in Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green. The microphone is in Smoky Slate with a Coastal Cabana handle in Stampin' Write Marker. The turtle was die-cut with Zany Zoo Dies, then adhered to a Basic White Stylish Shapes circle die-cut and popped up over the ribbon. I added a little Soft Sea Foam Blends shadow under the turtle.
Finishing Touches—I colored the Rhinestones with the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Marker, then sprinkled them around the circle.
Inside the Card—I added a 1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of the coordinating DSP to the side of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White. Then, I hand-cut a frog playing a flute from the Zoo Crew DSP and added him with SEAL. I do not include these DSP elements for the inside of the card in the LIVE Class Kit.
Two Cool—My second version begins with a Pool Party sentiment layer onto a Lemon Lolly card base. The spotlight had to be a little bigger for this bigger image, so I cut a 2" x 4-1/2" Lemon Lolly piece diagonally this time. It's layered onto a piece of Coastal Cabana, then wrapped with some Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon.
Adorable Bear—I cut the bear image directly from the Zoo Crew DSP. There was only color on the accordion, so I added a little color to the bear with Pecan Pie Blends. I adhered the bear to a larger Basic White Stylish Shapes circle, then popped it up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I finished with Rhinestone gems colored with a Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin Blends Marker.
Inside The Card—I added another cute character from the DSP on the inside.
