2 People Needed To Fill The Next Group
Simply Zinnias Die-Cut Flowers Card
The Simply Zinnias has all the dies needed to create pretty, layered paper zinnias! I created each of my flowers in one color, but I’ve seen many use two colors for the bloom layers with spectacular results!
I CASEd the Simply Zinnia card layout by Laura Barto and featured on my previous post.
Background Basics
I started by adhering a 4″ x 4″ piece of Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper to a Soft Sea Foam card base. Next, I texture embossed a 2-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White with the Zinnias Embossing Folder and adhered that to the middle of the card. I also added a 2-3/4″ x 1/2″ strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock along the bottom of the embossed layer.
Focal Point
I used the Simply Zinnias Dies to die-cut all of the flower parts: leaves and stems in Lemon Lime Twist, two flower petals each in Berry Burst and Poppy Parade, stamens in Crushed Curry and flower centers in Pumpkin Pie. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the stems and leaves to the card first. Then, I used Liquid Glue to assemble the flower layers and mounted them on the card front.
Sweet Sentiment
I stamped the Simply Zinnia sentiment in Berry Burst ink across a 4″ x 1/2″ strip of Basic White and popped it up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches
I finished with some Shiny Sequins accents in the light orange color.
Two Cool
I created a matching treat box for team members who participated in last month’s team event.
Background Basics
I used the Scalloped Gift Card Box for this treat holder. I love this box! First, it’s a special way to package a gift card, but the box itself is so versatile! The boxes are white and have the adhesive already on the box; just peel off the backing and assemble…so easy!
I decorated the top with a 4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Flowering Zinnias DSP. I also added a coordinating pattern of Flowering Zinnias to the sides: two 4″ x 3/4″ strips and two 2-3/4″ x 3/4″ strips.
I stamped a Simply Zinnias sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto a 4″ x 7/8″ strip of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and adhered it across the top of the box. I also tied some now retired Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon around the box top and tied it into a double-knot.
Focal Point
I created two zinnias blooms just like I did for the class card above and attached them to the box with Dimensionals. I finished with a couple of Lemon Lime Twist Shiny Sequins.
Box Closure
I adore the scalloped edge of the box top, but it does not stay closed without being tied with a ribbon. So, I just tucked the scalloped edge into the box. It’s not as pretty, but it stays closed very nicely that way!
Inside The Box
The cool part of this box is that there is a little folded piece that has corner slots to hold a gift card and pop up one side like a little easel display! Awesome! Such a classy way to give a gift card!
Variations
For my team projects, I left out the gift card but added a color-coordinated pack of gum on that little easel. Or, you could simply remove the easel and add all kinds of things like cash, candy or other small gifts. Love it!
